The Walnut Grove started life as a hog pen- great soil buried beneath barbed wire, broken bottles and
weeds. Once the surface debris was cleared, and the soil tilled
and free of most roots, a plan was drawn. The 1996 plan can be
viewed by clicking on the small image.

The Walnut Grove has been maintained in much the same configuration as
the original plan, although with the addition and subtraction of plants
along the way It is good to wear a hard hat when the
walnuts start falling.
